Meet Cairo, a resilient Thoroughbred who arrived at Central Virginia Horse Rescue in May 2024 to continue his rehabilitation from the racetrack. Cairo suffered a fractured sesamoid, a challenging injury that requires time and careful management to heal properly. At CVHR, Cairo will receive the dedicated care he needs to complete his recovery, after which he will be evaluated for soundness and riding potential. His journey is one of perseverance and hope, as we work towards giving Cairo the opportunity for a bright and healthy future.
