Welcome to the Central Virginia Horse Rescue (CVHR) Youth Trainer Challenge, an awe-inspiring annual event that brings together young talent and equine potential in a transformative journey of growth, education, and teamwork.
About the Challenge
The Youth Trainer Challenge is an incredible opportunity for young horse enthusiasts to showcase their talent, compassion, and leadership abilities. This event is unlike any other—pairing each youth with a horse in need from our rescue center. Together, they work towards fostering a deep bond and achieving individual training goals aimed at the rehabilitation and improved well-being of the horse.
Meet The Participants
This year, we are excited to introduce 5 exceptional youth participants, each paired with a CVHR horse that matches their skills and interests. Over the course of the challenge, they will work closely with their equine partners to complete their individual goals, which include:
- Physical Conditioning
- Basic Handling Training
- Socialization Skills
- Confidence Building
- Training Under Saddle (if applicable)
The Grand Finale
At the conclusion of this empowering event, each youth will create a 2-minute video presentation featuring their horse and highlighting their accomplishments throughout the challenge. This riveting finale serves not only as an exhibition of each pair’s progress but also as an emotional testament to the transformative power of kindness, dedication, and skilled horsemanship.
